What You Want in Life
You ask for what you want but unless you allow it into your life it won’t happen.
Whether you realize it or not you can ask for what you want but then when it happens or is about to happen you can put up roadblocks to prevent it from happening.
That’s when you allow your FEARS to take over or setting up roadblocks along the way. We all have a tendency to do this.
From an early age, we learn whether we’re deserving of what we want or not by the things we’re told.
For instance here’s a list of some of the ways that someone told you that you Can’t do something that you took to heart and believed to the point that every time you came close to your goals you pulled back:
- Take Can’t Take Care of Yourself
- You’re dumb
- You can’t hold a job
- You can’t live alone
- You’re worthless
- You’re helpless
These are all negative statements made to control you and keep you down and hold you back.
Allowing Those Things Into Your Life
Reading self-help books will help and there’s many on the bookshelves you can choose from, but remember it doesn’t help to just read them, you have to take it a step further and have a plan to put into action.
Life is what you make it!
There are support groups available for you to help you build the skills needed to change your MINDSET
Seeing a therapist can help, especially when it’s too much to handle and you need someone that’s more skilled than a layman to help.
It was under Sigmund Freud (1856–1939). that Psychoanalysis was founded. Freud believed that people could be cured by making conscious their unconscious thoughts and motivations, thus gaining insight. But it wasn’t until the 1960’s when the Baby Boomers came of age that people started to truly embrace change and leave conservative values behind,
In those conservative values of the 1950’s you had shows like Leave it to Beaver or Father Knows Best, etc. where shows depicted the perfect family life where parents always had the right answer to give to a problem.
As we now live in the modern era with technology, when you look back at history, people who were burned at the stake were mentally ill but believed to be possessed by demons.
We all now know there is no perfect family and we all have the ability to change to live a better life!
